Southcross Energy Purchases Enterprise Alabama Intrastate, LLC
DALLAS, Texas, August 31, 2011 – Southcross Energy today announced that the company has purchased Enterprise Alabama Intrastate, LLC (EAI), a subsidiary of Enterprise Products Partners L.P. (NYSE: EPD). EAI’s assets consist of approximately 388 miles of natural gas pipelines and 21,545 horsepower of compression in northwest and central Alabama. Throughput on the pipeline system averages approximately 108 million cubic feet of natural gas per day (MMcf/d).
In addition to the newly acquired assets, Southcross’s assets in Alabama include about 130 miles of gathering pipeline with an estimated capacity of 75 MMcf/d providing services to producers in the area.

The EAI system includes a 375-mile mainline pipeline segment and two noncontiguous gathering segments. The largest on-system customers served by the pipeline system are Alagasco, the largest natural gas utility in Alabama; the city of Fayette; and the Northwest Alabama Gas District.
